The exhibition spans an area of 1500m2 and combines high definition audio-visual elements with different exhibit elements.

Open at the Navigation Pavilion in Seville until October 12th.

ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño (APD) has participated in the design of the commemorative exhibition of the 25th Anniversary of the Seville Expo’92. The exhibition, open until the 12th October at the Navigation Pavilion in Seville, is one of the key highlights of the activity programme put together to celebrate this anniversary.

The exhibition “Everybody’s success. From the dream to reality” is a journey to the most important moments of Expo’92, and it aims to transmit the importance of this event for the transformation of the city, highlighting its cultural, social and economic legacy.

As a result of the minimalist industrial design chosen by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño, the approximately 100 objects included in the exhibition are the real protagonists.

Exhibition concept

The exhibition spans a total surface of 1500 m2 and is divided into four themes arranged chronologically to facilitate a journey for the visitor through the history of Expo´92, from its inception to the daily activities onsite.

The final section of the exhibition shows the evolution of the Island of La Cartuja –where the event took place – and the city of Seville in these 25 years, and also the future projects for the area.

The exhibition is arranged on self-supporting walls that evolve chromatically from grey to more saturated tones of colour to symbolise the progressive transformation experienced by the city in infrastructures and spatial planning.

This resource allows for the transformation of the exhibition area to a more futuristic treatment and culminates in a stage cube where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Expo’92 through the high definition audio-visual projections on two of its walls.

In addition, the exhibition includes more than 100 pieces, including floor plans and models, books, photographs, original merchandising and fabrics, to better understand the importance of the World Exhibition, a nod to the past and the memories of an entire generation.

This commemorative show has been promoted by Seville’s City Hall and organised by the Seville Expo Legacy Association, EPGASA, and the Seville Architects Chartered Institute. It will be open to the public for six months, and its opening and closing dates coincide with the EXPO’92 original dates: from April 20th to October 12th.

The history of ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño is closely linked with this event, as the company was founded in 1990 to provide specialised design, production and technical operation services for Expo’92.

Among the works carried out by APD for the event, was the design and execution of the exhibition areas of many pavilions, such as the pavilions of Spain, Andalucía or Castilla-La Mancha, in addition to the development of content for the pavilions of Africa, Caribbean Nations, Egypt, Russia, Madrid Region and Plaza de América.

The Company also participated in the development of different events held during Expo’92, such as the film “Cantabria: The discovery of a region”, featured in the Cantabria Pavilion, the “Azabache” shows or the multimedia show “Night Fiesta” on the Lake of Spain, the final touch of the day, every day.

ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño’s activity works within the concept of Cultural Engineering, projects that highlight cultural heritage through the use of technological innovation, social innovation and sustainable development. Since its inception, the company has designed pavilions for different countries in all the World or International Exhibitions that have been held, committed to the integration of new technologies to create memorable experiences for the visitors.
